Recycling bins are located in the parking lots of Hugo's and Cenex Truck Stop (see map)

Aluminum and Tin

Can be placed in the same dumpster section.
No need to remove labels.
Rinsing is not necessary but may be desirable depending on where your recyclables are stored.
Crushing is not necessary but will save on space in your home recycling station.

Plastic

Remove covers from bottles.
Only #1 and #2 plastic can be recycled: look for the numbers on the bottom of the container.
Do not recycle plastic bags or wrap.

Glass

Any color glass can be recycled.
Remove covers – labels do not have to be removed.
Do not recycle windshield glass or light bulbs.

Newspaper

Anything that is bundled with the newspaper can be recycled with newspaper.

Magazines

Recycle all glossy magazines, catalogs, etc. together.

More Recycling

Free Compost

Occasionally, we have leaf compost for your garden. It is located at the Public Works Maintenance Facility at 1121 Atlantic Avenue North. The pile is located to the north of the facility and is for current sanitation customers.

Christmas Trees/Branch Removal

Christmas tree removal will be for 2 weeks after the holiday.

Branch pickup is for trimmings only – tied up in 5-foot lengths. This service is for trees and branches removed from the city limits only.

Household Hazardous Waste

TV's, computer monitors & appliances (1 orange sticker each)

All hazardous waste is accepted at Les's Sanitation located at 1345 Hwy 32 South.

Les's Sanitation Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 -12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
